Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s Cloud, it’s Sephiroth and “One Winged Angel” is playing. It’s still as effective as it was back in 1997, because Square Enix has totally not exploited the scenario for all it’s worth over the years.

Don’t take my sarcasm the wrong way — I am looking forward to getting my hands on Dissidia and am hoping for a good game. However, Sephiroth and “One Winged Angel” is so overdone by now that something like this — a game where it could have some real impact — is just boring.

Maybe I’m too cynical, but I can’t help but feel that I’d be totally all over this video if Sephiroth hadn’t made an awkward six minute appearance in Advent Children, or had yet another “epic” showdown in Crisis Core, or if the music hadn’t been done to death for the past decade.

Still, it just makes the characters who have not been over exposed, like Kefka and Kuja, all the more interesting. Sephiroth, however, is dull, and we have eleven years of fanwanking to thank for it.
