Saints Row: The Third PC is 'not a port'

0

Volition has recognized that the PC version of Saints Row 2 was generally considered outright garbage, and has promised that Saints Row: The Third won't saddle computers with a shoddy port job.

"As many of our PC fans are probably aware, the Saints Row 2 port on PC could've been a lot better," said the studio. "Saints Row: The Third on PC is not a port, and it's our goal here at Volition to prove that to our PC fans ... Highlights include AMD Eyefinity support, DX9, DX10, and DX11 support, Crossfire enabled, SLI enabled, advanced depth of field, reflections, and ambient occlusion quality, and, of course, God Rays."

The game is being developed in-house by Volition rather than handled by an exterior firm. Volition says it will "be at the same level of playability as the console versions."

It's sad that something like this has to be noteworthy news. When you spend upwards of a fifty bucks on a game, it should work correctly no matter what system it's on. It's definitely awesome that Volition is putting in serious effort with the PC version, but it's crazy that we live in a world where such a thing is commendable.
