According to GamesIndustry.biz’s unnamed sources, Starbreeze Studio is working on a new Syndicate title for Electronic Arts. The title is said to be in development (surprise!) for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a reboot to the Syndicate series. Word of a title in developent cropped up last October, when we speculated it could be the title Starbreeze is currently working on for EA, codenamed “Project Redlime.” According to GI.biz, “Project Redlime” and this Syndicate title are one and the same.
Starbreeze is currently working on an announced titled for EA, based on Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne character. These new rumors have the Syndicate title being released after work on the Bourne title has been completed.
EA, of course, are quiet on the matter. But needless to say, a new Syndicate title could be a dream for fans of the series. Starbreeze’s first title, The Outforce, was a real-time strategy affair; their subsequent games focused more on action, with their recent efforts being first-person titles. If the rumors are true, this could be… interesting.
