Screw the haters. I’m of the mind that there can’t be enough zombie-related videogames on the market. It seems like developer Nihilistic Software and I are on the same page.
Our sources tell us that the developer — who released the THQ-published third-person action splatterfest, Conan last year — is working on an Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network title tentatively called “Zombie Apocalypse.” Details are sketchy, but we’re told the title is an arcade-style game which would also feature online multiplayer support. “Zombie Apocalypse” may have gamers fighting to save survivors from zombie hordes over the course of several in-game days, using weapons like a chainsaw, as well as deadly environmental hazards.
This info seems to jive with Nihilistic programmer and artist Mike Parsons’ resume, which we dug up today by poking around the Internet. Parsons list a “to be announced” “arcade style downloadable zombie game” for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as one of his current projects. His resume also lists another unannounced title, a third-person action game for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Sierra’s kiddie-style Xbox LIVE undead game Zombie Wranglers seems to be stuck in limbo somewhere, but at least we have doublesix’s PSN title Burn Zombie Burn! to look forward to. Is there room for another digital zombie-slaughtering adventure in your life?
