According to a “document forwarded to Kotaku,” SOCOM developer Slant Six Games may be developing a new game in the Resident Evil series for Capcom.Â
The mysterious document makes note of a title called Resident Evil: Raccoon City;Â the Vancouver-based developer is also said to be staffing up for the project. This jives with vague details on the developer’s next project, found on its website — “an amazing new project” and a “new publishing partner on a world class franchise.”
Slant Six developed SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals Confrontation for the PlayStation 3, and pushed out two PlayStation Portable SOCOM titles, Tactical Strike and Fireteam Bravo. Kotaku notes that a few Slant Six employees are listing “multiplayer action game” on their LinkedIn profiles. One must also consider the developer’s history with Sony’s handheld, and the fact that the Resident Evil PSP game announced nearly two years ago has been missing in action.Â
Capcom, as you’d expect, “does not comment to rumors and/or speculation.”
