Red Faction: Guerrilla PC gets a release date, system specs

I’m not entirely sure how this flew under everyone’s radar, but timestamps don’t lie. On Monday of this week, Volition gave an update on the state of Red Faction: Guerrilla for PC, and things are looking up.

First, the release date: September 15 for the United States and September 11 for everywhere else. Since digital distribution differs from region to region and not all of the deals are finalized just yet, the company is remaining quiet on which services we’ll see Red Faction appear on.

As for the system requirements:

Minimum:

  • Windows XP / Vista
  • 2.0 GHz Dual-Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
  • 1 GB RAM / 15 GB of Hard Drive space
  • 128 MB 3D Video Card w/ Shader Model 3.0 Support (Nvidia GeForce 7600/ATI Radeon X1300)

Recommended:

  • Windows Vista® for DirectX® 10
  • 3.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
  • 2 GB RAM / 15 GB of Hard Drive space
  • 256 MB 3D Video Card w/Shader Model 3.0 Support (Nvidia GeForce 8800/ATI Radeon HD3850)

Volition also notes that if you want to play the game’s multiplayer — trust me, you do — you’re going to need to meet the recommended specifications for the best possible user experience.
