Reality TV’s newest star: Pac-Man?

Yes, that Pac-Man. Namco Bandai and Merv Griffin Entertainment are creating a reality television series for one of gaming’s oldest icons, Deadline reports.

Perhaps most shocking of all, there’s the potential for this show to be — dare I say it? — enjoyable. MGE’s president of TV, Roy Bank, describes it as a “big, crazy Wipeout-type event with a lot of energy. The idea we have is to take what Pac-Man is and bring it to life, to bring what is essentially the world’s biggest game of tag to television.”

Assuming they stay even remotely close to that pitch, I’m in. And for those of you questioning my positivity here, just remember, it could be significantly worse.
