Epicenter Studio’s upcoming Wii title Real Heroes: Firefighter is aptly named. The game will thrust players into the role of a firefighter, forced to not only acknowledge his speckled past and eventual career choice, but also his yearning to save chicks and put out fire. I totally made up the first three things, but fire is confirmed.

The game will feature judicious usage of the Wii’s waggle controls to allow players to smash doors with axes and utilize the Jaws of Life. It will also feature something called “Thinking Fire” technology, which means that the flames will have their own A.I. patterns. In a way, I suppose we should be thankful that the fire could chase us around. At least finding the fire won’t be an issue.

The game is being published by Conspiracy and is expected to release around mid 2009. We’ve been working hard to find out if saving chicks is a part of this package, but using axes should serve to soothe any concern over the realistic interpretation of firefighting being brought about in this title.
