Rare: No motion control for BK, stop taking rumors so cereal

Rumors have been flying around the ‘net lately concerning Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and the alleged use of Microsoft’s mysterious motion controller. Rare is currently denying the rumors and stating that thread comments need to stop being taken seriously.

Rare’s George Kelion had this to say to Destructoid regarding the BK motion control rumors:

“There’s no truth to the Banjo motion control rumour. Banjo has been designed to be played using a gamepad from the outset.

People shouldn’t take rumours that gestate in comments sections so seriously. They can often turn out to be red herrings, as is the case with Banjo and motion controls.”

That’s the official line for now, at least. Does it rule out of the possibility of motion control support for Nuts & Bolts in the future? Certainly not, but it seems that for now, Rare hasn’t been looking at Wiimote-copying shenanigans for the new Banjo-Kazooie. Very much like all good rumors, however, I fully expect this one to still be circulated with gusto by the fishwives and Internet Matlocks until we get definitive confirmation either way.
