PSN surpasses one million users mark

Good news for the PlayStation 3 is usually far and few between, so enjoy this little nugget while you can, Sony fanboys. According to head PR man David Karraker, the PlayStation Network (you know, that free but not quite as good Xbox Live for the PS3) now has “more than 1.3 million users worldwide.” From Gamespot:

This week, Dave Karraker, Sony Computer Entertainment America’s senior director of public relations, told GameSpot that the PlayStation Network now has more than 1.3 million users worldwide. Of those users, 600,000 are in North America, where Sony has shipped over 2 million consoles. Worldwide, some 3.7 million pieces of content have been downloaded from the PlayStation Network, though Sony did not specify how many of said items were games.

Even if you’re a heated detractor, you have to admit those are some pretty good numbers for such a new service.
