Preview the upcoming Banjo-Kazooie Symphony

Blake Robinson's new orchestral tribute releases on May 31

Abridged soundtracks to Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie were recently released online for free, and Banjo composer Grant Kirkhope has been popping his head seemingly everywhere. Is it just me, or is the classic Rare platforming series undergoing a kind of mind share renaissance? We haven't heard this much about the bear and bird since 2008 when Nuts & Bolts was a thing.

The Banjo celebrations continue with Banjo-Kazooie Symphony, an orchestral arrangement of the entire B-K soundtrack set to release on May 31. Once again, this tribute has been lovingly crafted by British musician Blake Robinson, who just two months ago let loose Super Metroid Symphony. He has received the full blessing of Kirkhope on this project -- Kirkhope was actually going to collaborate with Blake on a track as well, but time constraints thwarted those plans. Maybe for the potential Banjo-Tooie Symphony!

The full album, properly licensed through Joypad Records, will be sold on Loudr and iTunes. In the meantime, Blake has provided a few minute-long preview tracks exclusively to Destructoid, which I've uploaded to our SoundCloud account. Hit up the link to give them a listen, or just check the embedded stream below.
