Pit Crew Panic!

is weird. Like, really weird. The game centers on you controlling an all female pit crew team as you have to repair the most random sh*t ever. Cars with cakes as engines, the Golden Gate Bridge, giant toilets, potted plants, and the list goes on.

I feel if I were to describe this game to some random non-gamer on the street, I would be immediately beaten up and then sent to a mental hospital. Thankfully, I just have to explain this weird title to you, Dtoiders. Hit the jump for my impressions on Pit Crew Panic!

As I just said, players will take control of a female pit crew team as they fix ridiculous objects. Wedding cakes, tanks, aircraft carriers, and more will all come sliding into your pit. Just check out the gallery to see the stuff that needs repairing.

To fix the random objects, or Whatsits as they’re called in the game, players will need to select a girl and drag her onto a specific broken part. All of the girls can be used at the same time to fix objects and you’ll need to move the girls on to the next repairable part until the object is completely fixed. Each part of the Whatsits has a time limit and parts will explode if they’re not fixed in time.

Once an object is completely fixed, a GO! arrow will appear on the screen. Players will need to grab the GO! arrow with the Wiimote and then toss it off the screen for the next object to slide into the pit.

The girls can fix the objects by themselves, but players can help speed them up by mimicking their repair motions with the Wiimote. So if one of the girls is using a wrench on a Whatits, players will need to mimic the wrench motion with the Wiimote on top of the girl to help speed her up. Two girls can work on the same object at the same time to repair the Whatsits as well.

Pit Crew Panic! will have drop in and out four-player support for both online and offline modes. Players can work together to fix Whatsits in Normal Mode or against each other in 2 vs. 2 Abnormal Mode.

That’s pretty much all there is to the game. I’m still not sure what to think of it. While it’s completely absurd and funny, I can see the novelty wearing out rather fast. Plus, the way the girls stare at you is super creepy.

Pit Crew Panic! is developed and published by Hudson Entertainment for Wii Ware. Pricing and release date have yet to be determined.
