Corporations are allowed to get away with a lot of dubious behavior, but in an age of social networking, they would do well to be a bit more careful about pissing off a vocal demographic. EA, this year's biggest public enemy in the games industry, got a nice lesson this morning.
In the wee hours of the early AM, Electronic Arts' Facebook photos (warning: NSFW) were bombed with images of varied hideousness and hilarity, ranging from hentai images to endless photos of Steam logos and Gabe Newell's face. Other users just took to being as random and "Internet" as possible, so EA's photo page is a veritable collage of weird and borderline-illegal imagery.
Corporate Facebook pages have gotten themselves in trouble before thanks to the way the page shares photos from users who "Like" the page. A while ago, Subway got its page filled with sandwich-flavored hentai thanks to a naughty user.
