During this morning’s Pokemon Direct presentation, it was announced that the hugely popular mobile title, Pokemon GO, will receive connectivity for Switch releases Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet later today, possibly as soon as you’ve read these words.

When you next receive gifts and postcards from your Pokemon GO friends, (or purchase them from the in-game stores), you can then forward these postcards to your Pokemon Scarlet/Violet accounts, with each postcard you deliver offering up new color variants for Vivillon, based on the card’s location.

In addition, once you have sent these cards, you will be given the opportunity to catch a Roaming Form Gimmighoul back in Pokemon GO. And if that wasn’t enough, then once you have gathered 999 Gimmighoul coins, then the money-grabbing critter will evolve into Gholdengo!

Finally, it was revealed that Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are working to bring Pokemon Home connectivity to both Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet later this year, though no further details were made available. We’ll be sure to bring you up to speed when a release date is forthcoming.
