A while back, Destructoid launched Fight.destructoid.com, which is a new way to challenge gamers online for points that can be redeemed for prizes. Since its launch, many people have already signed up to check it out and battle their friends online! If this is your first time hearing about this, I’d highly recommend reading our tutorial guide here!

This week, we are proud to announce that the highly requested Mortal Kombat is now available to play! In celebration of this announcement, we are offering a couple of new prizes that you can earn by redeeming your hard-earned points. We will also be hosting some tournaments to give you the chance to win bonus points towards these and other future prizes! Check below for all the juicy details!

Ways to win points:

As always, you can challenge other players to a host of head-to-head competitions. You set the rules with the person you are challenging in games such as Super Street Fighter IV, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and now Mortal Kombat and Starcraft 2!

However, exclusive to this week, Destructoid will be hosting tournaments through fight.destructoid.com. By checking out the “Tournaments” tab at 8:00pm Pacific time on Tuesday and Thursday, you will see a list of 8 player tournaments you can join in! These are “bonus point” tournaments, so called because the winner of any of these tournaments will receive an extra 500 points added to their account! Added to the points that you get from just winning the tournament, and you are almost halfway to claiming a prize!

Don’t think you have what it takes to win every match? Well, did you know that Fight.destructoid.com also has ways to earn points along on top playing matches? By inviting your friends to play by our referral system, you can earn extra points! Not only that, any time you play a match for points, regardless if you win or lose, you have the option of sharing the results on twitter and facebook for even more points.

For more details, be sure to read the Fight.destructoid.com Fight Manual and good luck on winning the prizes!
