One part Sonic, One part Mario = Somari!

Somari (Sonic + Mario) was a hacked catridge on the NES sold primarily around Hong Kong in the 80's. Basically, some unknown gaming pimp figured out how to get the 16-bit sonic game and transfer it into an 8-bit cartridge, which boggles the mind. The gameplay isn't as fluid (duh) since you're playing it on a weaker machine, but it made somebody some cash on the side! Want to play Somari today? You don't have to catch a jet to the People's Republic to get your hands on it: ClassicGaming.com will save you the trip. Their site has additional background information on this notorious game, as well as a playable ROM for your PC emulator. I know Nintendo's stance on emulation and it's probably uber illegal to host that file. Those Classic Gaming guys have huevos - and we salute their sackly practice. Bonus Stage: Wikipedia
