One of Dtoid's own had a grand game-themed wedding

One of our own just got hitched on November 11! Machine Gun Tommy and his wife Lindsay are both huge gamers with a combined collection of over 2500 games (enough to take our resident hoarder Funktastic to school and back!), so to say that videogames are at the core of their being is an understatement! With such a shared attachment to the hobby, they naturally had to have a game-themed wedding that no one would ever forget.

After Tommy popped the question -- he hid the ring under the lid of their GameCube -- the duo started making the preparations, including commissioning Mega Man 2 sprite centerpieces made from LEGO bricks, ordering an 8-bit enemy cake designed by the same people who made the Mario 25th Anniversary cake for the Nintendo World Store, and compiling a song list that featured the Final Fantasy theme (FFXII version) for walking back down the aisle after being wed and "Dearly Beloved" from Kingdom Hearts II for the first dance. They even made cards with game screens that they grabbed by actually playing through the games (no fuzzy JPGs here). And when the festivities were over, they ran to GameStop still dressed in their attire to pick up Skyrim!

Tommy and Lindsay, we all wish you the best. No go do the thing that married couples do with the scented candles and rose petals and all that!
