Heaven forbid we let Splatterhouse hog the spotlight, it’s only fair that we illuminate the revival of Earthworm Jim as well. With Interplay rising from the ashes, we knew that it wouldn’t be long before the supersuited invertebrate would make his return, and today is the day that firm plans for franchise necromancy are revealed.
Jim‘s creator, Doug TenNapel will be teaming with Interplay as creative consultant on what is currently known as Earthworm Jim 4. In addition to the game, it has been revealed that a cartoon series and feature film are also in the works, with TenNapel’s involvement. Just bring back Dan Castellaneta for the voice of Jim and I’m pretty much sold.
So far it’s been a pretty good day for fans of irreverent retro sidescrollers, don’t you think?
