Chatting with Chris Foster between the songs of Green Day: Rock Band, the question of DLC came up. As Project Director of the game, he would be the go to man to answer these questions. Everyone wants to know, will more Green Day be coming to the game? Unfortunately, it looks like those who want even more songs from the albums Nimrod, Insomniac and Warning will be disappointed. According to Foster, other than the 21st Century Breakdown DLC currently available for download for Rock Band, it does not bode well that more Green Day DLC will be coming.

Truthfully, all their best game-appropriate songs have been made in the game, and besides, the 21st Century songs have been optimized with the harmonies, mo-cap, and making things work with the venue. These are all extra steps when making the songs, and this is much more effort than Harmonix will likely be able to go through. Time is money, people.

However, all is not for loss. Foster was clear that they would love to have more Green Day music. should Green Day be making more music, as they indeed are, and if the fans want it, we could see those new songs supported with Rock Band 2, and dare we say it...Rock Band 3. C'mon, those harmonies have to breath a little bit, and what better place than the next step in the franchise?
