Nintendo World Store in New York to close for 'massive makeover'

Closed for one month

Nintendo has just informed us that on January 19, the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Plaza, NYC, will temporarily close down. Set to re-open on February 19 (with a grand celebration including exclusive merch), it will sport a "new look and feel" (which you can preview below) when it comes back. There will be an updated interior, 3DS and Wii U demos, and a 15-foot gaming screen in tow. The new tagline for the location is "where everyone comes to play."

Having been to the store before I was pretty happy with the old format, but updates are rarely a bad thing. Just keep this in mind if you're planning on visiting NYC anytime soon.
