Now that we’re well into February 2007, Nintendo Power has put out a call for all of Nintendo’s loyal fans to vote on their favorite games of the year. The list, of course, covers all of Nintendo’s consoles and since the magazine itself is financed by Nintendo, you can be sure that this list is going to be taped up in Reggie’s locker (at least until it’s replaced by a picture of Farrah Fawcett, or, failing that, Wanda Sykes).

In reading the list, I’m finding that it’s probably the most balanced, comprehensive list of nominees I saw this year. They definitely get points for that, but, at the same time, the fact that we can’t write in Okami as the game of the year, is sure to piss off a lot of people.

[Update: Since many people seem to think this is just Ninendo’s way of patting themselves on the back, I would like to, somewhat ironically, turn this post into a way of patting one of our own on the back.
