Nintendo is ‘working on a solution’ to the Wii storage limit

Geeks and Otaku, stand proud. Our incessant bitching has finally made it to the ears of the upper brass at Nintendo, and now it seems that they are finally working on some kind of storage solution for the memory-gimped Wii.

After the recent controversy, Nintendo let NoE marketing man Laurent Fischer drop the good news: “We’re working on a solution.” Nice save! But don’t go jumping to conclusions yet; whatever this solution is, it’s not external hardware.

“Definitely there’s no plan to issue hardware, an external hard drive, but we know that we have an issue in that area,” said Fischer. “It’s very obvious and we’re perfectly aware of it, but there’s nothing we can say beyond this.”

“We definitely detect that they [gamers] are serious and we know there is an issue in this, so it’s something that we’re working on,” he told GamesIndustry.biz.

He did not give any other details, other than say that “this area is fully handled by the development team in Japan.”

What do you think this solution will be? Do you think they’ll free up some of the SD memory card restrictions?

[Thanks, Coonskin05]
