All of the fun kicks off on November 7, when a limited edition red Wii hardware bundle hit shelves. It’s in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., and comes bundled with: a red Wii and a red Wii Remote Plus peripheral, a red Nunchuk, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Wii Sports. It’ll run you $199.99.
Also to celebrate its money-making plumber’s birthday, Nintendo is release a red Nintendo DSi XL bundle. It’ll ship with Mario Kart DS, and a red DSi XL featuring a Super Mario Bros.-themed graphic. The system will come pre-loaded with Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters and Brain Age Express: Math and Photo Clock, all for $179.99.
And finally, we already knew about it, but it’s official — the Wii Remote Plus is coming. It’s your basic Wii Remote with built in MotionPlus technology; no more need for a dongle! The peripheral itself will run you $39.99, but you can also get it in a bundle with the upcoming title FlingSmash for $39.99.
Nintendo never fails to come out swinging for the holidays, does it? I’ve got a feeling it’s about to have another extremely successful season, despite new hardware from its competition.
