Ninja Senki delivers slick 8-bit platforming for free

Recommended Videos

If you dug The Tempura of the Dead, there’s a decent chance you’ll enjoy Ninja Senki, a new — and totally free — 8-bit platformer for Windows.

It has a similar style to that of Mega Man, but the controls feel tighter. Actually, excluding the obviously retro-centric visuals, Ninja Senki feels fairly modern on the whole. All you really need to know is that you can throw shurikens and jump up into the HUD (aka the best part of older titles).

According to the game’s site, “skills are required.” That is not a lie. Give it a spin.
