New studio Hello Games reveals Joe Danger

In a preview for Edge magazine, Hello Games has revealed its first title, Joe Danger.

The 2D stunt racing game has players taking control of Joe Danger, a stuntman who’s seen better days attempting to make his big-time comeback. The Edge preview draws control parallels to Trials HD, but is clear that the game has its own agenda with more forgiving controls and a more light-hearted attitude. The game will feature a number of challenges, some of which provide the player with freedom to edit the level for best results. One example given includes a ramp, 20 buses, and a lot of player creativity.

Hello Games hasn’t confirmed a platform yet, but multiplatform seem likely — Edge played a demo that featured PS3 button prompts, but used a 360 controller on a PC.

Oh, and if you’ve never heard of Hello Games, you’re not alone. The studio is new, comprised of former Kuju, Sumo, and Zoe Mode employees. Maybe you can related to this better — some of them worked on games like Black and Burnout. Does Joe Danger have your interest yet? There’s a big old preview in the latest issue of Edge, and we hope to get more details directly from Hello Games soon, so stay tuned.
