So this Move thing came out. Did you get it? If you live in the U.S. the chances are far less likely than if you lived in Europe. That’s according to our good friends from Wedbush, Michael Pachter and Edward Woo (Pachter & Woo), who have gone beyond this past month’s NPD numbers and say that the system had a “modest” debut stateside. The Move sold around 300,000 units in the U.S., and that is including PlayStation 3s bundled with the system. The two do believe that sales will only grow as we move into the holiday season.
Meanwhile, the controllers seem to be moving a bit better across the pond, to the point that supply might not be able to meet demand. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (which includes the Middle East, Africa, Australia and Europe) chief Andrew House said that Move saw “very significant sales in the first month since launch, somewhere in the region of 1.5 million units for the new controller across just Europe.”
Strange that the difference would be so great, but since one of these numbers is from a Sony executive we might want to take that with a grain of salt.
Does anyone else think Pachter & Woo should be a buddy cop film?
