Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord's latest dev update shows too many things to count

Seasons, villages, replays, and more

Mount & Blade consumed literally months of the lives of some of my friends. Capturing cities, becoming a great ruler, wide-scale battles on horseback, it’s no wonder it took them the way it did. Sleepless nights, muttering about bandits and countries I'd never heard of... it was a rough time.

With TaleWorlds having released the latest development update for Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, I’m now sure we’re going to go through the cycle all over again. God help their souls. The development blog goes into frightening detail about all of these new updates, and is used as a kind of play-by-play of the trailer which you can see above.

The video is fairly short, showing quick clips of the new and updated features in the game: siege weapons, village management, new interdependencies between castles and other settlements, new terrain and bandit AI, the updated UI, revamped city exploration to add more culture and life, new seasons, weapon crafting, and a replay system that saves battles fought to be rewatched or rendered in a higher quality at a later date.

There’s still no release date for Mount & Blade 2, nor an early access release, just yet. But when it does, you might notice there be a significant drop in peoples’ productivity. Seriously, Warband eats peoples’ souls and turns them into withered husks of their former selves.

I might have to install it just to see what the fuss is about.
