Mortal what-now? Aggressors of Dark Kombat returns on modern platforms

Terribly-titled fighter returns today

Today sees another '90s SNK title return to enhance the video game history of a whole new generation, as Aggressors of Dark Kombat launches on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Shuffling into arcades and on the home Neo Geo platform in 1994, Aggressors of Dark Kombat is a rightfully-forgotten fighting ggames published by SNK and developed by Alpha-Denshi Corp. (note initials of company and game title).

In ADK, players pick from one of a selection of dull characters and do battle in a series of arena-based fisticuffs. Players can move in and out of the screen, rather then just left and right on a standard 2D plane, and also utilise nearby weaponry to gain victory over the opposition. All of this counts for very little as ADK is garbage, then and now.

With forgettable characters, poor music and clunky controls, ADK died hard in an era of Mortal Kombat II, Virtua Fighter and Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Fortunately, SNK would also begin their King of Fighters series in the same year, and off to the races they went. For completionists and curio sake only, Aggressors of Dark Kombat is available today on PS4 in Japan and Xbox One and Nintendo Switch worldwide, priced at around $8.
