At the end of last month, we showed you a Famitsu advertisement from Atlus, which teased that a DS game called Devil Survivor would soon be detailed. Today we have more details on this game, set to be released in Japan early next year.
Atlus Japan has updated their Web site for Devil Survivor, and it features a new video on the game’s story (above), as well as product release information and a new desktop wallpaper.
Like some of the other Megami Tensei titles, this game is set in modern-day Japan. The city has been sealed off, and you’ll have to fight demons to get to the bottom of things in one week, as a full-blown devil invasion is set to launch then.
Details on game play aren’t totally clear yet. The screenshots from the most recent Famitsu say that this is a Simulation RPG, and it seems to be presented in an isometric overhead view. You’ll use a popular gaming device called a COMP to communicate with demons. In the scans, I can see some familiar demons, but the text promises to bring new ones to the table as well.
This lovely looking title is 90% complete. It is set to be released on January 15, 2009 in Japan, for 5,229 yen. The official site says to expect more details soon.
