Jim Sterling wasn’t too thrilled about the prospect of the bottom biting bug (better known as Oshiri Kajiri Mushi in Japan) when he posted about this game before, but let me tell you people, if you haven’t tried a game so ridiculous it has you making faces at the DS screen, you haven’t lived. Take my word for it.
Thanks to these new screens from the game (which is actually called Oshiri Kajiri Mushi no Rhythm Lesson DS: Kawai Ongaku Kyoushitsu Kanshuu, which you won’t remember 5 seconds after reading this article,) we can see that instruments will figure into the game. A castanets, turntables and xylophones are shown, not ot mention a cooking set which apparently dismantles for clanking purposes. Who knew bugs were so inventive and clever!
There is also apparently singing training, which requires that you sing into the DS microphone. I understand that developers are trying to make the DS microphone more functional in their projects, and that’s fine. I personally hate using the thing and would honestly be just fine if I never had to blow into it to complete another mini-game. Anyway, 100 songs are featured in the game. Great.
I’ll pretty much try any crazy Japanese rhythm game since my love affair with Taiko No Tatsujin addicted me to the genre, so I may give it a shot once it’s on sale in Japan.
