Miyazaki's Laputa: Castle in the Sky lovingly re-created in Minecraft

0

Wow

After working tirelessly since 2013, this Laputa: Castle in the Sky fan project in Minecraft is complete. You can view the fruits of human-to-digital labor on Mocchi Hajikura's YouTube channel, which showcase not only the actual castle, but the aircraft involved as well.

It's incredibly appropriate, as the Iron Golem, an official NPC type that's been in the game since 2012, was crafted as a direct homage to Castle in the Sky. Given that Laputa is one of my favorite Miyazaki movies (if not my top choice), I'm going to boot this up and explore it as quickly as possible.

It's beautiful.
