Missile Command on XBLA this Wednesday

This week’s Xbox Live Arcade release is the Atari classic, Missile Command. It’s set to hit XBLA on Independence Day and can be yours for 400 Microsoft Points. I guess if you squint your eyes and have a little booze in you, the explosions in Missile Command do sort of resemble fireworks exploding.

Fun little factoid courtesy of Wikipedia: “while programming Missile Command, its writer suffered from nightmares.” What a traumatic experience that must’ve been for the poor guy. Maybe the game really was cursed like the old legends used to say.

Like previous old school games to hit Live Arcade, Missile Command will feature the regular visual style as well as the option to play with a new high-def look. It will even support resolutions up to 1080p, anti-aliasing, and digital surround sound.

What are you thinking, Xbox 360 owners? Yay or nay?
