[facepalm]
Everything is coming to the iPhone, isn’t it? And while some of it is good lately, I kind of wonder about a Time Crisis port. I mean, isn’t the charm to have a gun in your hand and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with your partner?
Well, this time around, your “gun” is your finger. In Time Crisis Strike, you tap to fire. That mechanic worked fine for Silent Hill:The Escape, but somehow it seems less cool in Time Crisis. I suppose that the tilt-to-duck mechanic of Strike is pretty nifty. The press release says that you’ll also tilt to take cover and reload. That could be fun. Or bad.
Time Crisis Strike features two game modes — Arcade Mode and Crisis Missions. In Arcade Mode, players move through multiple stages that culminate in a final showdown with the evil Wild Dog. Crisis Missions put players’ sharpshooting skills to the test. On first play, only one Crisis Missions is available; players must beat Wild Dog in arcade mode to unlock the remaining four Crisis Missions.
The game is available now for $5.99 through Apple’s App Store. I suppose we’ll give it a spin (or flick) and let you know how it goes. We’re not expecting much, though.
