Brief spot of news on the Mirror’s Edge 2 front. (Yeah, it’s still on the way, apparently.) According to Official PlayStation Magazine, via CVG, “The Frostbite 2 engine will pave the way for Mirror’s Edge to make a free-running return.” At least, that’s what the rumors are saying.

If accurate, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, given how integral the aesthetic design of Mirror’s Edge was to the experience, and how delightfully impressive this engine is.

Truth be told, I’d be more worried about non-linear gameplay being nailed down in a sequel than the visuals. Will it even be more open-ended? We don’t know yet. But it better.
