Microsoft: XBL’s friends cap will be raised, we promise

Recommended Videos

I’m afraid to even do a Google search to see how many times this site has mentioned the 100-friend cap for Xbox LIVE, and how many of those times involved someone of authority saying the restriction would be addressed.

Now I can’t say how big of an issue this is for the majority of Xbox LIVE users, but for me, most of my fellow bloggers, and I imagine a good portion of you all have either hit the friends cap or gotten dangerously close.

Anyway, Microsoft’s Steve Willet told Patrick Klepek over at G4 that no one has forgotten about past promises. “It is absolutely a continued focus and I am not [a] technical architect that you could tell you why it’s capped there,” he says, “but I will say it continues to come up, it is something that will not be forever, but I can’t give you a real time horizon on when it’s going to change.”

Well that was informative and eerily specific. Case closed, guys! You can go home now.
