MAG trailer uses community announcers

If there is one thing that MAG is going to rely on it’s its community. With 258 people actually able to play at a time you’re actually going to have to have 258 people to play a full blown game at a time. On top of that there’s a lot of faith being placed on people’s willingness to follow orders from commanding officers who aren’t actually commanding officers in any real army, even if they did earn their rank in game. However, if everyone who plays MAG is as committed as the community members and game testers who got to voice over the newest MAG trailer sound then it might not be so much of a problem after all.

The trailer above puts the emphasis on teamwork, showing off the massive movements of soldiers throughout each level and the subsequent fire fights that erupt from them. Those voices you hear are actual players who entered a contest to be in the MAG trailer, and they do a surprisingly solid job of it. In fact their voice work might be better than the trailer itself, since we’ve seen almost everything in it already from one angle or another. It’s pretty easy to create a trailer showing off your massive action, but to make one that truly expresses the community the game is going to have/need deserves a golf clap.

Anyone get some time with this at PAX? I didn’t because I’m not there. Grumble, grumble.
