EA has announced that a new game to be added to their EA Access subscription service on Xbox One on February 2: Madden NFL 16. Please, control yourself. No need to get that excited.

In his review, Steven wasn’t entirely impressed by it.  While it apparently makes some much-needed improvements over the previous games, it’s plagued by slow menus, lengthy load times and plenty of microtransactions.

The addition of Madden 16 means that one fifth of all the games on EA Access are American football (three out of 15), and more than half of the titles on offer are sports games (eight out of 15). Sports games have massive amounts of more casual players, so it’s pretty obvious who the target audience for EA Access is. Still, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

For $5 a month, that’s a lot of American football. And with it, a lot of big, burly, American football players all climbing over each other in tight clothes… trying desperately to grab the ball and score… and then heading off to the locker room to…

I need to play more Madden.
