Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been pushed back to September 21

A delay to afford some extra polish

Upcoming action-adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits is taking a little extra time to prepare for launch. Developer Ember Lab has pushed its previous August date back to Sept. 21, 2021, in order to polish the game across all platforms.

“The team has been working extremely hard and we feel the extra time is critical to ensure the best experience possible,” read today’s statement from the studio. “We know many of you are eager to play and we appreciate your patience as the team continues to work on delivering the best version of Kena.”

Kena: Bridge of Spirits showed up last year, during PlayStation’s PS5 reveal event. The action-adventure game has a pretty remarkable look, with a lot of the magic and expressive motion you’d expect to see in a modern animated film.

A delay last year pushed it into 2021, and though the team had been aiming for an August release, a little extra polish can’t hurt. Studios everywhere have been affected by global circumstances, and if a little more time and polish can make Kena‘s adventure shine, that sounds like a good trade-off.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is slotted to launch Sept. 21, 2021 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Epic Games Store.
