Silent Hill has always been a strictly single-player affair — and rightly so, for horror games aren’t that scary when you’ve got people running around with “420killarz” over their heads. Konami, however, may be giving us some multiplayer anyway — in the form of an Xbox Live Arcade title.
The gossip comes via Silent Hill: Downpour art director Radek Marek, who blew the whistle in a translated Xbox 360 Magazine Italy interview.
“At the moment there will be no multiplayer modes in Silent Hill: Downpour, but Konami are investigating a separate chapter devoted entirely to the Multiplayer,” he stated. “We do not know the details but it should be an XBLA title that most players have to survive in the town of Silent Hill.”
Well, that sounds interesting. Not sure if it sounds like the kind of thing that would work in a game designed around isolation and atmosphere, but let’s face it — Konami’s been buggering this franchise for a while, it might as well do this. I’ll play it anyway.
What do you reckon? Could this work?
