It looks like id Software is looking to start work on an unannounced title. In a recent interview, Bethesda Software’s VP of marketing Pete Hines said id is looking to create a third development team and will be able to do that more quickly thanks to that ZeniMax Media acquirement thing. This magical third team will likely begin work on an unannounced project. The other two are currently working on Rage and the Doom 4 — two titles we can’t wait to touch.

“They have a team working on Rage, which will be published by EA next year, and they have a second team working on Doom 4,” Hines told TechRadar.

“They’d like to start building up a full third team and, as a result of this deal, they’ll be able to do that more quickly than they could have previously with the additional resources they have to work with now.”

Nice. We’d like to see a fresh Commander Keen, but id Software knows that releasing a revival of the classic could throw the Earth off its orbit. Collective gasps can do that, you know.
