To obtain Gold variants, you’ll need to open chests, and plenty of them. Based on the available stats, they’re extremely rare to pop from chests.

The odds of all Gold variants are extremely low. I expect Epic to increase odds as we move into the latter weeks of Season 3. While finding a Golden variant can be a grind, there are good reasons behind why you should get them.
How do Gold Sprites work in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3
The base function of a Gold Sprite is the same as their base variant. For example, the Fire Sprite does something fiery when you damage an opponent. The base function of the Gold Sprite is the same. However, it has a bonus effect: Gain bonus XP from eliminations.
If you’re someone who likes to go for kills, Gold Sprites are perfect. You’ll get 1,600 XP from every kill. Even managing a few kills could get you anywhere between 5,000 and 10,000 XP. This significantly helps to unlock the contents of the seasonal passes quicker. You can also look to trade them with other players, as the community has come up with a brilliant solution to solve the low odds of certain Sprites.
