Can you help find our missing teens?

Last week, we reported on the launch of Spike Chunsoft’s new teaser website “Hidden Bats,” which fans had quickly deduced is related to incoming sequel AI: The Somnium Files — nirvanA Initiative. Well, it seems that the plot thickens, as the site has spawned a puzzling mystery game on social media channels.

Following on from the reveal of the teaser site, (and its bizarre accompanying video), two new Twitter accounts have sprung, seemingly owned by two missing teenagers. The accounts, which spill their words in both Japanese and English, see characters Aine Ichirai and Binato Sotobara pleading with the public for help, as they pair seem trapped within some sort of strange, ethereal plane. Once players have cracked the password, they should enter it into the “Sunaiku Foundation” website for secret deets!

The two Twitter accounts have been posting numerical and visual riddles, alongside explanations of their surroundings and general cries for mercy. Eager fans have been attempting to decode the messages and pictograms, hoping to help out the two missing teens and also new details pertaining to the release of nirvanA Initiative. It should be noted that Spike Chunsoft has not confirmed that the site relates to The Somnium Files‘ sequel, but “Hidden Bats” is a direct reference to a previous game trailer.

It seems relatively clear that the pictures pertain to numbers in the video, which will provide the password required… Why haven’t I solved it? I got waaaay too much work to do today. Sorry, kids, I’m sure you’ll get outta there soon enough. AI: The Somnium Files — nirvanA Initiative launches June 24 on PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
