At PAX East today, Hi-Rez studio has unveiled its next title as Tribes: Ascend.
Powered by Unreal Engine 3, the game is said to be the direct follow-up to Tribes 2, which was released in 2001. The game is scheduled for release as a digital download for PC and Xbox 360, with other platforms “currently under consideration.”
The Global Agenda developer had earlier announced its plan to release a “persistent world” title, Tribes Universe, after purchasing the series in October of last year. While Universe is still in the cards, Tribes: Ascend will see the light of day first, scheduled for a release this year.
