Here’s a quick My Nintendo April recap (Update)

My Nintendo April recap

It’s mostly Kirby related

My Nintendo has undergone a ton of changes lately, mostly for the better. Not only did Nintendo revamp the system, but it’s also integrated directly with the Switch now: something users have been wanting for years. With that in mind, here’s a My Nintendo April recap.

Most importantly, you can get extra Platinum and rewards straight from your Switch console now

This is probably the most crucial aspect of this recap, despite the fact that it was added a month ago. I mean, it’s still active!

Basically, you can net a minimum of 100 Platinum Points if you log into your Switch, play a game that supports online play, use the backup save data function, and play a retro game (on a console that the interface specifies). It’s one of the easiest ways to get over the currency hump if you need a small amount.

There’s also a new direct reward system via new avatars and cosmetic bonuses.

There’s a new set of Nintendo 64 keychain rewards still in stock

Described as “Set A,” this reward consists of Mario Kart 64 and Star Fox 64 console cartridge keychains.

They’re 500 Platinum Points for the set, and unfortunately, “Set B” (Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time) is sold out at this time. Yet, we could see a restock eventually, and the nomenclature implies we will possibly get more.

You can get 100 easy Platinum Points from the new Kirby landing site

Whenever a AAA first-party game is released, Nintendo typically puts out a landing site with a quick seek-and-find activity to participate in for Platinum.

You can find a full rundown of the site here, as well as where to find the solutions.

The Kirby contest is still going

The “spring break with Kirby” giveaway is live until May 3, 2022, and all you need to do is throw in up to 30 Platinum Points to enter.

Each increment of 10 Platinum is an “entry,” and the winners (up to 10) will be announced after the deadline.

A new Kirby bag reward is coming

Although it isn’t quite here yet, Nintendo has announced a new Forgotten Land shopping bag reward that will be available soon. It’ll most likely run you 500 Platinum, similar in pricing to other bags on the service; but nothing has been confirmed.

[Update: It’s live now for 600 Platinum as of April 14, 2022.]

If you need points, we have you covered

Beyond this My Nintendo April recap, as a reminder you can find our full Platinum Point guide here, which has been updated with details on weekly missions: bookmark it for when you need quick points for a reward. A handful of points is incredibly easy to get, as that’s basically just 15 minutes with Super Mario Run, or a quick sign-on to the 3DS or Wii U 3Shop. Also remember that any shipments are bundled together, so you can pay a flat rate for multiple items instead of paying it each time. Just know that items go out of stock on My Nintendo frequently, and some are never restocked.
