At least three readers have just canceled their preorder for Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream visionary David Cage has stated that the sex scenes found in Heavy Rain are not pornographic, won’t push boundaries, and are all about emotions. What’s the point of that?
“There are a couple [of sex scenes], but it’s definitely not porn,” says Cage. “We don’t intend to push the boundaries and be ultra-realistic in every detail. It’s about real characters having emotions and doing what adults do when they fall in love.”
I think David Cage overestimates his audience. We can likely all agree that if he’d said the sex scenes are absolutely filthy and worth blowing a bucketload over, he’d get way more attention for his game. Who cares about emotions, love, or even a female’s personality? If David Cage had simply said, “There will be anal,” I’d buy the game twice.
