Hard West: Part cowboy XCOM, part High Plains Drifter nightmare

Hitting all the right notes with me

When I first clicked on the Hard West Kickstarter, there was a twinge of disappointment that this wasn't a game about Kanye. I got over it quick, though.

I like Westerns, and I like all the reference points this video was making: XCOM, David Lynch, Stephen King, No Country For Old Men. Surprised there's no High Plains Drifter note, especially given the intruding nightmare bits. And the mechanic with the sun (particularly casting long shadows to give away position) is real neat.

Hard West comes from people that worked on Call of Juarez, Dead Island, and (eventual cult classic?) Hard Reset.

Steven watches anime & sports, buys meat out of trucks, dates a Muppet, and is only good at cooking. He stands before you bereft of solace and well on the road to perdition. ('^ω^) more
