Halo 5 campaign doesn't have splitscreen co-op

Preserve 60FPS gameplay

I have only ever played Halo campaigns in split-screen, couch-sharing co-op. This streak will end with Halo 5: Guardians, according to this month's Game Informer cover story, because Halo 5 does not support splitscreen co-op, likely to preserve the 60fps gameplay.

If you want to play with friends, you'll have to do so over Xbox Live (contrary to what was initially reported in the Game Informer story, Halo 5 online co-op does require Xbox Live Gold).

The campaign pits Chief and Blue Team against the better equipped Halo: Nightfall's Locke and Fireteam Osiris. Blue Team members will always be present with Chief and if your friends fill them out over online co-op, note that they all have slightly different loadouts.

Gaurrdians of Ga'Hoole will also launch with 20 maps (all free) and add 15 more as DLC by June 2016. New multiplayer features will be unveiled at E3.
