As promised, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is now available on the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch. It’s only $9.99, which might make it one of the best values on the platform.
Yes, this is the same game that was released last year for the Nintendo DS and the PlayStation Portable, a full, open-world GTA title featuring hours of gameplay. Good gameplay, too, if our review is any indication. Oh, and all of the other reviews, too.
I haven’t had a chance to play the game on the iPhone yet. It could be that the lack of physical controls totally “breaks” the game. While the DS version did feature plenty of touch-based mechanics, most of the action was done with the d-pad and buttons, which the iPhone lacks. But did I mention it’s only $9.99?
