Goodbye, meatworld -- Gal*Gun VR is available on Steam

Long live the new flesh

When I was a kid, I used to imagine what a VR version of Super Metroid would be like. The picture I had in my head was almost exactly like what Metroid Prime would end up being, a first-person view through the eyes of Samus. We haven't quite gotten to the point where Nintendo is ready to embrace VR and make this a reality, but that's okay, because instead Inti Creates has blessed the world with a VR version of Gal*Gun, a game where you can make anime girls love you while tilting your head painfully low to the ground in an attempt to look under their skirts. (I mean, why not?)

It's not quite what I imagined, but we're getting there.

I briefly played Gal*Gun and, well...I mean, I don't know what I was expecting. It seemed fun enough. I knew what I was getting into and it delivered. It's sort of a rail shooter where you shoot your pheromones at girls to make them fall in love with you. I don't know what else to say; basically anyone who finds these quirky, bizarre fan service type games appealing has probably already played it. To see it get a VR release only makes sense considering the subject matter. Destructoid gave Gal*Gun: Double Peace a decent review, so if nothing else it will be a fitting way to get into the series for the rich monocle-clad Monopoly men out there who have a VR headset at their disposal.

It's out now on Steam, so if that is your thing, go check it out!

LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH.
