God Factory: Wingmen is about arcade dogfights in space

Dig out your flight sticks

Dogfighting games are somewhat of a rarity these days and we are definitely overdue for another one. God Factory: Wingmen is an arcade-style space combat title that scratches a specific itch I've had ever since Wing Commander.

Two teams are pitted against each other with the goal to destroy the other guy's big mothership. It's like if two Battlestars engaged in combat with squads of Vipers fighting one other. The main ships have cannons that will fire as time passes and destroying these will slow down the damage being done to your own ship.

It's easy to fly the ships around since the controls are very arcade-style. I played it at PAX using a flight stick, which will be the preferred way to play this game, but I can also see it being played using a controller. After trying the game for just a few minutes I was comfortable coming in close for strafing runs and pulling out while doing a barrel roll.

God Factory: Wingmen is being created by Nine Dots Studio, the same team behind the indie card game Brand.
